A musical encounter with memory, regret, and the bittersweet recognition of things that have passed. As I wrote when I composed the central piece: "It is a piece filled with severe isolation in contrast to the throbbing passion of living." This experience invites your guests into that particular ache and gives it form.
Echoes of Deep Symmetries
Available now
A musical encounter with the hidden proportion underlying the natural world. Phi, the Golden Ratio, forms the internal structure of the central work and shows up in the objects your guests will hold, the poem they will hear, and the music that unfolds around them. As I wrote: "This piece is a sonic painting of that limb" of the branching tree, of proportion embedded in creation itself.

A musical encounter with the perimeter region of excessive revelry, and with the question of control and impulse, poise and imbalance. The waltz form is its vehicle. Good company is its occasion.

Objects of Contemplation -- physical objects chosen to anchor the listener to specific moments in the music. In Echoes of Deep Symmetries: ammonite fossils whose spiral form embodies the Golden Ratio at the heart of Phi, a paper rose folded from the pages of a story, a miniature hourglass, and a scented element that engages a sense the music cannot reach.

The music arrives at exactly the right moment. The Discussion Guide gives you the words to open conversations your guests did not know they were ready to have.
This is not a concert. It is not a dinner party with background music. It is something genuinely new: a hosted musical encounter that puts your guests at the center of the experience and uses great music as the instrument of connection.

As a musical artist I have devoted my life to sculpting in the air with sound waves. This is a physical, embodied art form. In our day, it is common to experience music only for ourselves, through headphones. This experience invites you out from isolated experience to create shared connections through beauty.
