Description: The text is Henry Lyte's deathbed hymn: the soul's cry to God in its most vulnerable moment. The setting does not make peace with mortality easily; the opening has the quality of genuine terror. What follows is a long intercession, the voice finding its footing, and a resolution that arrives at the end only because it has been preceded by everything that it was.
